Mat3ra at the Genesis Mission Hackathon

Mat3ra took part as an Industrial Partner in the Genesis Mission Hackathon, held October 14–16, 2026 at Argonne National Laboratory, where project teams and industry partners worked on bringing scientific workflows into the Genesis Mission Platform.

Mat3ra took part in the Genesis Mission Hackathon as an Industrial Partner. The hackathon was held October 14–16, 2026 at Argonne National Laboratory, the first national laboratory in the United States, and Mat3ra was represented by Timur Bazhirov, Founder and CEO.

The Genesis Mission is the U.S. Department of Energy initiative to advance super intelligence for science. The hackathon was built around one outcome: every Genesis Mission award team was to leave with a strong starting point for integrating its scientific workflow into the Genesis Mission Platform. Over three days, teams worked with technical experts and used open capabilities and computing resources at DOE facilities.

The Mat3ra logo appeared on the event's opening slide among the industry participants, alongside AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and IBM Research. The same slide also showed the Argonne and Oak Ridge computing facilities, NERSC, ESnet, HPDF and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mat3ra is part of the Genesis Mission through three selected projects, including AlphaFilm, which aims to accelerate thin film discovery. It was good to be in the room where AI, data and computing are being put to work on materials science, and we are excited to keep building.
