A.I. 2 Science Happy Hour: Science, AI, and Community in Lafayette

On September 6, 2026, Mat3ra hosted another A.I. 2 Science Happy Hour at Social Bird in Lafayette, California. The monthly meetup once again brought together researchers, builders, students, entrepreneurs, and community members interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and science.

The event is intentionally informal: rather than a traditional conference or presentation format, it creates space for open conversation, new connections, and cross-disciplinary exchange. Participants can meet people working across materials science, chemistry, biology, AI, scientific computing, and related fields, share what they are working on, and explore ideas in a relaxed local setting.

This recurring format is what makes the series valuable. Conversations can move naturally between research challenges, practical applications of AI, new tools, emerging technologies, and opportunities for collaboration. It is also an easy way for people who are simply curious about AI for science to meet the local community without needing a formal technical agenda.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in September and helped make the afternoon welcoming, engaging, and full of conversation.
